Notes: The Fortezza di Sarzanello is a military fortification built in via the Sarzanello fortress on the hill, near Sarzana, in the province of La Spezia, and dominates, from the Val di Magra. Its nature and its location make it one of the symbols of the city of Sarzana.The fortress consists of two distinct elements of the factory: the first, real castle and the main fortification element has a triangular shape, with the top three bastions. This item Factory hosts the actual structure of the castle; the second is a huge ravelin in the form of triangular fortified embankment, almost the same size of the fortress; opposite the first and connected through a flying bridge, so as to form with the first element a sort of rhombus formed by two triangles. Access to the fortress is possible by crossing the stone bridge, which crosses the wide and deep moat, which is also fortified.
